June & July

We are going to visit J's parents this end of June. I didn't do much online shopping yet, except books for my studies. A lot cheaper via Amazon and sent in law's house.

My in law had booked a vacation for us to visit Cornwall. Down south of England. I told my husband that the scene in drama Doc Martin is so nice. My husband told my MIL and she then booked the vacation. Thanks mom!

When we visited then for after Adam was born, I had packed a month earlier. But this time we will take easy. I didnt expect anything much, except I want my in law to have good time us especially their grandchildren. Of course June and July is nice time to go, not so hot and not so cold.

My country

The more I do my studies the more I feel scared about what is going on with my country, especially on the economy part...It wasn't me who only said this. My other group mate too. Let's see what happened in the next election. Vote wisely friends...!
Things I want to happen in Penang.
1. LRT/MRT or monorail in Penang Island. That connect from northern to southern of the island.
2. Public water taxi done by Penang State or Federal Government, Not just a company like E&O
3. Dustbin in every 50 meters distances. (More job to MPPP)
4. More civilized people! This is very important, no matter good infrastructure we have, but if people don't have love to this country there is no point. How do we change this?

When kids are sick

Kids had been sick for the last 2 weeks. Coughing and flu and now my turn...seems this viral infection is going away and coming back. I don't like to put my kids on medication, both are getting better. Just hope they are going to behave while their daddy on business trip again....

Satchel

I love satchel. I think satchels are all-season bag that I can wear in my whole life. Since school, uni, work and even as a housewife. Mulberry Alexa. This is one of my favorite bag that I own, which I seldom carry it, because I love it so much and afraid it will get dirt. One of countless present from my husband, which I know what I have to do is to be thankful.

Lonely...

Another satchel that I like is Proenza Schouler PS1. The price is super super crazy, which may be one day I will reward myself. Perhaps when I go back to work...hahahaha when will that be?

For what they are. I think they are expensive bags to be carried around. Hahahaha! The functions are exactly the same as my Fila cross body which I carry nowadays more than any other bags that I owned.

Crazy money!

Anyway...This one caught my eyes... The  Cambridge Satchel... affordable, but I don't see the reason I need to buy this. Although I need to find a bag that can fit my 15 inches MAC book pro.... The 15 inches Cambridge Satchel bag can fit well but, I bet I won't be able to put in other things in the bag..What will be the best for me...?

Ok Ok...I really need to sleep... Merapu!

Junior Engineering

I blogged about this before and today, I thought I will try to write about this toys more details. We bought this set when there was popular book store fare near our home. It was about RM150 something, I can't exactly remember.

The concept of this toy is similar to lego except the parts are a bit bigger and easy to handle. It comes with plastic tools, hammer, spanner and pliers.

I find this toy help him  on reading and follow instruction.
One thing we have a problem in Asia is always lack of reading instruction carefully. I have to admit that as myself are having the same problem. Reading instruction or manual will help to minimize making error.

In the preparation of making things, it mentioned numbers of parts that you need to make an object.
At the same time help Adam to understand how to read tables. Quite interesting. Of course at 3 he made mistake when reading the chart and a lot of guidance are needed.

This is what he did before he started assembling his projects. Describe to him what are the function or each parts, it can be as simple as what is different between nails and screw and nuts. What tools do we use to put nut into screw, nail into the board.

By the way, there is no step by step instruction in details how to make the car. But the photos provided are sufficient to make Adam imagine what is the end product look like. This is another thing what I like about this toy, when you are only given 2D picture, how do you come out with 3D object :-)

This is his 3rd. car that he had make based on the project.
My recommendation is to follow step by steps of the projects. Because the earlier project gives you idea how to make the later project. The more I do with him, the more he understand about how to connect pieces.

And who know one day he can make MANY of similar of this car :-) It has to begin somewhere :-P

The observer

Today, we sent Adam for play date in his new school. There are bunch of other kids too, mainly Japanese. Quite interesting to know that many Japanese send kids to English speaking International school instead of Japan International school. Which, there is one in Penang.

We were surprised by Adam behavior. He didn't cry, but instead he just looked at other kids crying when they were taken into class. Of course parents can't join. He looked very happy and even gave hug to the teachers when leaving. I took a peek when he was playing with other kids. I wasn't sure if he played gently, I hope so.

We just have to wait if he will be accepted. Like my husband said, ah well if he doesn't, then we will send him to cheaper school :-)

Reorganize

J and I decided to swap the office room, because he thought he took so much space for his office. So his office now becomes, my office, guest room and kids play room. Half of the room  which is my officemean this is where I am going to study, craft and sew. :-)

And of course the most of it, for kids to play without disturbing their daddy to work.

Courtyard

The courtyard is nearly ready. Just need to paint the wall. Kids can't wait to go and play. Adam had his toys out this morning.
We are happy finally to get rid off the woods and replaced with tiles.

My husband had this idea to out BBQ set, but there isn't really a big space for us. May be when kids are a bit bigger we can consider it.

I miss my kids

Haiiihh...for the past 2 days, I had been waking up early and leaving the house early for the classes that I had to attend in the early morning. J did all the house core and sending kids to school. Also, our house is in big mess now for renovation, so we are leaving the kids a bit longer at school. We put them at home first, they complained about how noisy everything was.
Really miss spending time with them. I can't wait everything to finish. Can't imagine if I have to go back to work.

Yay no more nappy!

My boy is growing so quickly. Adam now is not wearing nappy even on the bed. He has been good in the toilet, even in public toilet. He even becomes shy and doesn't want us to see him doing his poo or wee. He does stand up wee like a big boy.

At night, he has been dried since he was 2 years. So he is now nappy free. We had extra nappy with XL size, we hope we don't have to use it for him anymore.

Now, is my turn with Sophie :-)

Sophie 18 months

Time flies so quickly. Sophie, the time taken to read Dora book is getting lesser and lesser. This is because of Sophie has shown interest to the other books. She read most of Adam  books. She understand most of the things I asked her to do. Her pronunciation is still in baby words.

At 18 months she can do a few things...

  • Saying So-Peh for her name
  • Thomas became Noma
  • Say "All day long" , when wanted me to read "the wheel on the bus" book
  • Adam - Adeh
  • Daddy - Dada
  • She called me mom, instead of mommy.. That's because Adam called me Mom nowadays.
  • She can throw rubbish in the tong sampah when I asked her too.
  • Can say "Please" when she wants something and say "Thank You" whenever she received thing without being asked:-)
  • Say I love you and Good Night clearly before sleep
  • Her counting is clear from number 6 to 10, not 1 to 5.
  • Can hum twinkle little star, baba black sheep, happy birthday, old mac Donald, chicken lay eggs, wheel on the bus.
  • She can sit down still on potty, but still not able to do any wee or poo yet in it. Well, Adam only master it after 3 years old.
  • On the other hand she likes, to whack Adam for no reason, the more Adam whining about her whacking him, then she will do more... :-)

Kids they grow so quickly eh?

This is one thing that Adam is still not able to do by himself. To go on the swing. But Sophie can do without being hold. Kids are just different. I don't think either of them is better than the other. Both of them have their own strength and their own character. After all, they both are 2 different kids.
